Next, the project will be reviewed by the City Council's Planning and Land Use Management Committee.

Is the project approved and ready for construction?
The project has been approved by the City Planning Commission. Next, the project will go before the City Council’s Planning and Land Use Management Committee, and then the full City Council. We anticipate being before the City Council in 2018.

What commitment is Capri making to hire people from the local community?
As part of the master plan, Capri has committed to a local hiring goal of 25 percent for construction jobs and operations jobs.
How do I lease or buy one of the new apartments or condos?
We will have more information to share on how to lease or buy the apartments and condos once the project is approved. In the meantime, we’d love to hear about your interest. Are any of the new housing units affordable housing?
The master plan will create 961 housing units, and 10 percent of those units will be set aside for workforce housing and affordable housing.
What will happen to The Kickin’ Crab and other restaurants and retailers? Will they shut down or relocate?
We have assembled a top-tier collection of restaurants and retailers at Baldwin Hills Crenshaw. To keep supporting those businesses and their patrons we will relocate businesses in buildings affected by the redevelopment. More details about those relocations will be available in the coming months.
What are you doing to inform the community about the project?
Baldwin Hills Crenshaw has built a reputation as a great neighbor in the Crenshaw community. We will continue to work with local homeowners, businesses, and community stakeholders to ensure that Baldwin Hills Crenshaw undergoes the best transformation possible. Please come to our information booth at Center Court within the mall to learn more about the project.
What steps are you taking to be environmentally responsible?
Sustainability is of critical importance to the overall design philosophy of the transforming Baldwin Hills Crenshaw plan. We envision a healthy, “green” community that adheres to high environmental standards and creates a walkable environment with connections to public transportation. An extensive collection of open spaces will link all areas of the transformation and encourage visitors to get out of their cars.
How are you managing parking?
Our plan more than doubles current parking capacity by adding more than 3,600 new parking spaces. We will offer parking in excess of City of Los Angeles zoning requirements. We will also be creating a transit hub to support the new Crenshaw/LAX line light rail station.
